Tianjin University, previously Peiyang University, is a national public research
university in Tianjin, China.

Tianjin Normal University (TNU), originally founded as
Tianjin Normal College in 1958 and renamed in 1982, has its
roots in Tianjin Women’s School established in 1904. It
merged with Beiyang Women’s Normal School in 1911 to
become a pioneer in teacher education in Tianjin.
TNU is notable for producing a significant number of
educators and key teaching staff for both Tianjin and the
nation,
including over 300 school principals and more than 75% of Tianjin’s primary and secondary school teachers.
Recognized for its excellence, TNU was awarded the National Civilization Campus title in 2020 and included in China’s Education Power Construction Project in 2021. In 2023, it became a jointly-constructed university with the Ministry of Education and Tianjin Municipal Government.
