China, is a prominent research university under the Ministry of Education.
As a participant in the “985” Project and one of the first approved
institutions under China’s “Double First-Class” Initiative, HUST is recognized for its academic excellence.
Ranked among the top 10 universities in China by major domestic and
international rankings, including the Shanghai Ranking and US News, HUST
benefits from its location in Wuhan, a major cultural and economic hub in Central China.
The university’s main campus is near East Lake, with a satellite medical
campus in the Hankou district. HUST employs over 3,400 full-time faculty,
including more than 1,200 professors, and serves about 55,000 students.
Its campus, known for its extensive greenery, is often called the “ university in the forest.”
HUST offers a wide range of academic disciplines, with strong emphasis on
engineering and medicine, as well as growing programs in science and
liberal arts. It is dedicated to advancing scientific research and international
